Association of high-sensitivity cardiac troponin T concentrations with the left ventricular global function index after ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction

چکیده
Background The left ventricular global function index (LVGFI) is a novel indicator of cardiac performance. Recently, the LVGFI was linked to left ventricular ejection fraction and infarct characteristics in patients presenting with acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). In this study we sought to investigate the association of serially measured high-sensitivity cardiac troponin T (hs-TnT) concentrations and LVGFI assessed early after acute STEMI.

Electrocardiographic left ventricular hypertrophy is not associated with increased in-hospital adverse events in patients experiencing first non-ST segment elevation myocardial infarction: A single center study
Background: There is conflicting data about prognostic implication of electrocardiographic (ECG) left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) in patients with first non- ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI). We aimed to examine the association of left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) on admission electrocardiogram with adverse outcomes in patients with NSTEMI. Methods: In the present study, ...
متن کاملPredictive value of high-sensitive troponin t versus conventional biomarkers for 1-year left ventricular function and infarct size after STEMI
Background Data relating high-sensitive troponin T (hs-cTnT) to long-term myocardial function and damage in patients after STEMI are lacking. We evaluated the use of serial and peak concentrations of hs-cTnT versus creatine kinase (CK), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) and high sensitive C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) for prediction of myocardial function as well as infarct scar assessed by cardiac mag...
متن کاملAortic stiffness as a predictor of high-sensitivity cardiac troponin T levels at a chronic stage after ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction
Background Aortic stiffness is associated with early pulse wave reflection resulting in an increase of cardiac afterload and impairment of coronary perfusion. Experimental data show that high left ventricular pressure due to increased aortic stiffness is associated with enhanced myocardial cell death. We investigated whether aortic stiffness is related to high-sensitivity cardiac troponin T (hs...
متن کاملThe effect of oxygen inhalation on cardiac biomarkers in patients presenting with acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infraction: A randomized clinical trial
Background: It is assumed giving oxygen to patients with acute myocardial infraction may increase the oxygenation of the ischemic tissue; however, the usefulness of oxygen in these patients has become a challenging topic. Thus, the present study aimed to determine the effect of oxygen inhalation on cardiac biomarkers in patients with acute myocardial infarction. Methods: This randomized cli...
متن کاملIdentification of High-Risk Patients After ST-Segment-Elevation Myocardial Infarction: Comparison Between Angiographic and Magnetic Resonance Parameters.
BACKGROUND The incidence of angiographic no reflow (NR) and microvascular obstruction (MVO) at cardiac magnetic resonance is significantly different. The aim of this study was to investigate the occurrence of NR and MVO in a cohort of consecutive patients with ST-segment-elevation myocardial infarction treated with primary percutaneous coronary interventions. METHODS AND RESULTS In this prosp...
